Melissa Duffy

Artist Bio

I grew up in Montclair California, and loved to draw and create since I was a child. My Father was very good at ceramics and had great influence on my interest in art. Our family went to museums quite often and ideas of things to create were always around me.

I attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School where art class was included I attended Montclair High School and enjoyed the many art classes offered. The most interesting class I took in High School was cutting patterns in linoleum tiles, and then using that tile to silk screen the pattern on paper.

Chaffey College had the most impact on my art experiences. At Chaffey I had the teachers that inspired me the most.. Among them Martha Underwood, Andree Mahoney and Bob Smith were excellent artists that made wonderful teachers. Today I focus on works that reflect abstract and colorful themes. Art is something I enjoy most in life.
