Kathy Eppick
ARTIST'S BIO
Kathy was raised in the Northwest by her parents, "closet artists"
who maintained jobs while dabbling with weaving and photography. Kathy learned to weave while in elementary school, experimenting with the interplay of color. No weaving classes were offered in her high school, however, so she switched to music.

In college she studied psychology and theatre, discovering a talent for costume design. She also discovered an affinity for photography, and learned as much as she could about the subject by "shadowing" her art teacher during a semester spent in Florence, Italy. Continuing to explore various arts and crafts, in 2003 Kathy took a watercolor class through Cerritos College, where she continues to study diverse media and techniques.

Kathy has no intention of becoming a starving artist. She teaches third-grade students, and often gives them a dose of art along with their reading and math lessons. She enjoys watching her students play with colors, shapes, and different media, but her immediate plans are to create and sell enough art herself that she can spend her own summers painting and drawing rather than teaching others in summer school.
