Linda Hauser

ARTIST'S BIO

Linda is a native of the Inland Empire residing in Upland. She was inspired as an artist by her Grandmother who began painting after raising her six children. "She loved sketching and painting landscapes in oil." Following in her Grandmother's footsteps, Linda enjoys the same.

A surgical scrub nurse, Linda began painting as a hobby in 1990, taking evening classes with Betty Hook. "Painting was a way for me to unwind and relax, it also enabled me to make many friendships with others who share this passion. I certainly didn't realize what a positive impact painting would make on my life."

Linda has won numerous awards throughout Southern California, including the Popular Choice award at the Associated Artists Fine Art Show. Twice she has won the Purchase Award at the La Habra Art Show, these two paintings hang in the La Habra City Hall. She has also received a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Upland. " It's always a thrill for me when others appreciate my paintings, I'm pleased if I can take them back to a familiar place they've been or just dream of a place where they'd like to be." A special joy for Linda has been judging children's art shows, including "America's Kids" at the Los Angeles County Fair for the last four years. She also enjoys giving art lessons to primary school children in the Inland Empire. Linda is a member of the Fontana Art Association, Associated Artists of the Inland Empire, and currently President of the Pomona Valley Art Association. She enjoys painting commissioned works for private collections, her artwork can be seen at the Gallery SoHo in Pomona's Art Colony.
