ARTIST'S BIO

Bess Reide has worked many years in graphic arts, specializing in both the newspaper and direct mail areas of advertising, as well as in the field of outdoor display.

Her basic training - a BA degree from the Art Center School of Design, plus numerous workshops in watercolor and calligraphy.

Copper Enameling is: The process of applying a specially prepared powdered glass to metal (either silver or copper) and then fusing the two together through the use of heat (1500º - 2000º).

Cloisonne is enamelware in which the surface decoration is formed by different colors of enamel separated by thin strips of silver wire. This ancient process has been practiced since the 6th century by artisans in many parts of the world.
