Shannon Littleton

ARTIST'S BIO

Shannon is a self-taught artist born in Garden City, Michigan. She moved to California in 1991, and now lives in Alta Loma with her husband David of twelve years.

"I have had my hands in arts and crafts since I was a little girl. My mother, an oil and acrylic artist, was continually sticking "rainy day projects" under my nose at the kitchen table; where I'd sit for hours happily creating. They are some of my fondest memories growing up and a real stepping stone on my creative path."

"As I got older and much more serious about my artwork, I found myself pulled by the Abstract, Surreal, and Cubist movements and never looked back. Blown away by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and others, I continually endeavor to create my very own style with that in mind; though I have been known to paint traditional landscapes and seascapes as you will see in my artist profile image here....a gift for my husband David; lover of ships and all things Sea."

"Another passion of mine is ceramics, the likes of which I learned in my late teens through a small ceramics shop in White Lake, Michigan. I am now looking however to immerse myself into pottery and to creating pieces that are relflective of my love of nature and all things Southwest. My plan is to include a few pieces along with my paintings at Gallery SoHo sometime in 2012."
