We’re active in community events: Claremont’s Monthly Art Walk, the LA County Fair, Village Venture, Wine Walk, Chocolate Walk, and Beer Walk. Check our Events page for details.

We offer mostly free summer classes for kids and ongoing art classes for all ages. See our Exhibitions page to learn about annual shows. Join any event.

Volunteer with us—help during open hours, move artwork, or greet visitors. Volunteering is a great way to meet people and learn about PVAA.

Become a PVAA member to get the chance to exhibit at Gallery SOHO. Located in Claremont, PVAA and Gallery SOHO have long been part of the local arts community and draw many visitors.

Interested in exhibiting at Gallery SOHO?

It begins by becoming a member of PVAA because Gallery SOHO is the gallery of PVAA. Gallery SOHO is set up as a cooperative which means the gallery is completely run by PVAA’s exhibiting artists. So by applying for Exhibiting Artist you will be joining a community of artists. Our walls are always full and even though it can be a long wait before a spot opens up, be ready, get your name on the list: come into the gallery and ask for an Exhibiting Artist form.

Exhibiting Artists pay 20% of all sales made to the gallery, monthly “rent” for the exhibiting space used, and exhibiting artists contribute two scheduled hosting days at the gallery per month. We are a community of artists who pitch in to make our gallery operate as well as it does. And this can only be accomplished by teamwork and so, by becoming an Exhibiting Artist, you will also join a team. Three times a year we completely change out our Gallery SOHO installation which takes the talents of many of us working together. Exhibiting Artists can also offer classes at the gallery.

Most artists wait patiently for their opportunity to become an exhibiting artist after they become members … and it does happen. Our body of exhibiting artists is continually changing as artists move in and out of the area or face changes to their life. Southern California is a constantly changing place. And when someone decides to leave the gallery, we invite new members to exhibit. Until that opportunity arises, we make room for those waiting for their opportunity to exhibit in our monthly Art Walk. Also PVAA members may enter the PVAA Tri Annual Juried Exhibition at Claremont’s City Hall which offers prizes for those who win a ribbon. And along with other non-PVAA artists, entry is open to our Open Juried Show. Members also receive a PVAA newsletter every month, and are invited to our All Member BBQ in the Summer. We would be grateful for PVAA members helping to advertise our programs and exhibitions like our FREE Young Artist Show which is has a display date of Sept - December at the Alexander Hughes Center. PVAA has an educational side as welloffers some FREE art classes

Being an Exhibiting Artist has many advantages. Exhibiting Artists can participate in our annual exhibitions at the Los Angeles County Fair, and Village Venture. Exhibiting artists are featured in our monthly newsletter and can submit for publication short articles about other shows or art activities they are involved in outside of PVAA.
